Recipe Dabba, A Brand Making Healthy Snacks For Kids

Recipe Dabba is a brand committed to providing nutritious and delicious healthy snacks for kids. With a focus on wholesome ingredients, the brand aims to promote better eating habits among children, ensuring that snacking remains both enjoyable and beneficial. By prioritizing health and flavor, Recipe Dabba supports parents in their quest to offer their children quality snacks that contribute to overall well-being.

Meet Rakshita Dwivedi, founder of Recipe Dabba, a Bangalore-based woman entrepreneur creating everyday snacks for kids, families, and busy parents across India.

This is the story of how one mother’s search for safe, healthy snacks for her child quietly grew into a trusted Indian kids’ food brand serving families across cities.

Why Rakshita Started Recipe Dabba: The Search for Healthy Snacks for Kids

Rakshita was a working parent.

 She needed snacks that were:

  • healthy
  • tasty
  • convenient
  • and safe for daily consumption

But when she looked at what was available in the market, labels were confusing, ingredients felt unfamiliar, and it was hard to know what was actually good for her child. So she did what many parents do when the market doesn’t solve their problem.

She started making the snacks herself.

That decision didn’t begin as a business. It began as a way to take care of her child better. But it slowly turned into something many other parents needed too.

How Recipe Dabba Began: From Home Recipes to a Kids Healthy Food Brand

In 2017, Rakshita began recording her recipes on a blog called Recipe Dabba. At the same time, she used her weekends to run healthy cooking classes for children in Mumbai.

Over time, something became clear:
Parents didn’t just want recipes, they wanted ready, reliable food they could give their children without worrying.

In 2022, Rakshita took the plunge and started turning those recipes into products.

That’s when Recipe Dabba became a business.

Recipe Dabba’s Healthy Snacks for Children and Families

Today, Rakshita runs Recipe Dabba from Bangalore.

She makes:

  • healthy cookies
  • dry snacks
  • no-preservative premixes

All are designed for children and their families.

Recipe Dabba is not about occasional treats. It is built around everyday use.

Parents use these products for:

  • early-morning sports training
  • quick breakfast bites
  • bus snacks
  • evening munching

These are repeat needs, not impulse buys.

That’s why close to 90% of her customers come back regularly. The brand becomes part of a child’s daily routine, not just a one-time purchase.

How Recipe Dabba Earned Customer Trust

Rakshita didn’t have a big viral launch or a single breakout order.
Her signal was much quieter and much more important.

People started re-ordering.

Customers didn’t just buy once. They asked for continuous supply. They treated the snacks like a household staple.

One moment made this very real for her.

At a flea market, someone came up and said:

“Oh! I got this pancake mix as a gift. My daughter loves it.”

That meant Recipe Dabba had travelled beyond Rakshita’s own network.
The product was moving through homes on its own.

That is how trust spreads in family-focused businesses.

Challenges of Running a Kids’ Food Business in India

Food businesses are not just about making good products — they are about getting them delivered safely and on time.

The journey wasn’t smooth.

One of the moments that tested her was managing the business after a difficult phase and choosing the right delivery method.

“I remember sending a big batch of cookies and in the transport lot many packs were damaged. This was meant for a party favour, so we had to do the full order again in one day and then personally deliver it right before the party started.”

Like many founders, she had to learn while doing.

What Helped Recipe Dabba Grow

A key shift for Rakshita was deciding not to think small.

She began investing in:

  • tools
  • certifications
  • people

During COVID, when offline classes stopped and everything moved online, she completed a one-year Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. This strengthened customer trust and made her products more credible.

She also built a small kitchen team and brought in social media support so the business could grow without burning her out.

Today, Recipe Dabba sells across Bangalore and PAN-India.

Rakshita also runs her days with structure. Every evening, she writes the next day’s action plan to stay focused and avoid overwhelm.

What’s Next for Recipe Dabba

Right now, Rakshita is keeping things clear and focused.

Her next goal is to streamline her product list and concentrate on the products her customers really want and love.

She’s also looking for the right support, especially in visibility and social media, so more people can find Recipe Dabba.

Rakshita doesn’t talk about rushing or chasing fast success.

“Don’t rush and let’s enjoy the journey. There is no hurry.”

  1. Your products are our go-to, guilt-free snacks anytime we crave something good. Without adding anything artificial to enhance the taste, every bite reflects the care and thought you put into making them — almost as if they were made with the same love and attention you’d give food for your own child.
